JDF & Alianza
|
|
The JD Foundation grew out of La Alianza's Justicia en Diversidad Scholarship Committee. After a successful
2001-2002 scholarship program, members of Alianza decided to establish a non-profit corporation that would run independent of La Alianza, continue
the scholarship program begun by the Justicia en Diversidad Scholarship committee, and implement other programs that benefit
Latinos with an interest in law.

While the JD Foundation is an organization separate from La Alianza, both organizations share a commitment to promoting Latino
participation in the legal field. JDF also draws its membership almost entirely from current and past Alianzaistas.
The decision to incorporate JDF came largely from a desire to provide an opportunity for Latina/os at Harvard Law to remain
active with the Latino community at HLS even after graduation. All interested Harvard Law grads and others who feel they can contribute a unique
attribute to the Foundation are welcome to participate in our efforts.
